Before practising the Ape Swing be careful; there is a caveat, we must enter with caution if you have not ‘swung’ around like a kid for many years. Our bodies and, more specifically, our connective tissues (the pieces that often wind up leading people to seek a healthcare professional for help; tendon, cartilage, joint capsule, fascia, ligament….) have adapted to the lack of input. In other words, they have become less resilient.

This is an advanced progression for which we suggest a good amount of strength and mobility. Check out these videos and test yourself!

If you are interested in learning more about how we clinically use play and relxed movement in our rehab programs to help people with Aches & Pains and/or major sports injuries, be sure to check out our B2R Internship. This an evidence-based educational curriculum certified by the British Journal Of Sports Medicine (BJSM) and the Exercise and Sport Science Australia (ESSA).
